Homemade beef burgers made with just beef mince and salt and pepper, are a better alternative to fast food or takeaways.
Divide the beef mince into four. Gently form them into balls, without mixing the mince too much.
Heat a frying pan with a little oil on the highest heat. Once hot, place one ball of mince into the pan and squash down with a spatula to form a rough patty. This method makes a juicy burger with a meaty texture.
Leave the patty to cook on one side for 2 minutes, until crispy and browned. Flip the burger and season the cooked side with salt and pepper. Squash the patty down a little more with the spatula.
Flip once more and season the other side of the patty. If using, place the sliced cheese on top of the patty to melt it. Remove from the heat.
Toast the bun and make the burger with salad and sauces.
