Broccoli Mash

A tasty and easy way to introduce kids to broccoli - in mashed potato form!

Method:

  1. Wash, peel and roughly chop the potatoes into small chunks.
  2. Boil water in a kettle. Pour the boiling water into a large saucepan and add a pinch of salt.
  3. Add the potatoes to the water and cook for 12-15 minutes until tender
  4. As the potatoes cook, wash and chop up the broccoli (including the stalk) and add to the potatoes for the last 7 minutes of cooking.
  5. Drain the cooked potatoes and broccoli in a colander.
  6. Return the mixture to the saucepan and mash until smooth. Add the butter and season with salt and pepper.
