Dahl Curry

This simple lentil dish is lightly spiced, healthy, and great served with rice.

Method:

  1. Wash the red lentils thoroughly until the water runs clear. Add the lentils to a large saucepan with 400ml of warm water.
  2. Finely chop the onion and tomato. Peel and crush the garlic clove and green chill. Add to the saucepan.
  3. Add the salt, turmeric and curry leaves to the saucepan. Bring to the boil, then turn down the heat. Simmer the lentils for 15 minutes with the lid on.
  4. Add the coconut milk and simmer the lentils for 5 more minutes, until the lentils are cooked through and creamy.

  • Coconut Milk – 200ml
