Omelette

Quick, filling and cheap - everyone should learn how to make a basic omelette!

Method:

  1. Crack the eggs into a bowl. Whisk gently with a fork. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil and butter in a non-stick frying pan on a medium heat. Once the oil is hot and butter frothing, add the egg mixture.
  3. Tilt the pan so that the egg mixture covers the surface of the pan completely.
  4. Push the egg into the middle of the pan and allow the runny egg mixture to make contact with the pan.
  5. Allow to cook until the egg has just about set, about 30 seconds.
  6. Turn off the heat. Using a spatula, flip one half of the omelette over the other side, or roll it over. This will cook the remaining egg.
  7. Transfer to a plate and eat hot.
